An F-boat without the mouse fur

005 is being built tough for extended ocean sailing. But her cabins are intended to bring the beauty of the forests along for the journey. Interior structures are all built of lightweight foam core, with a variety of hardwoods epoxy-veneered in place. In many places, we're leaving the hull's Western Red Cedar strips exposed for visual interest.  As of early 2012, we figure another 400-500 hours of woodworking in the main & fore-cabins ought to just about do it. Including questions like, "just exactly how will we blend the carbon fiber countertops in with the polished-wood look???"

chart table before its carbon-top finish or windows cut. white area to right is the low doorway to engine room, and on to rear cabin

starboard settee raised from plan to allow battery bank underneath. all floors are lifting, hinged panels. note that middle bulkhead in this photo is missing the beam strut brace - that's still to be fabricated, cut in and bonded to the hull/bulkhead structure.

companionway steps - lower is hinged to allow clearance of lifting floors. haven't decided on this wall - painted or wood paneled?
